In 2023, my friend Amélie and I spent two days in the workshop of Félix Berger, better known as Polypus, a talented surfboard shaper based near Paris. Félix walked us through the different steps of building a surfboard, and it was fascinating. He’s the kind of person whose passion is contagious—someone who loves sharing his craft.

These photos were taken in the shaping room, where the magic happens. When I shared them on Instagram one year later, I added a little extra: a short animation made in After Effects featuring a hand-drawn logo, with a music from a jam session with Adrien Mathieu on bass, Yann Méheut on guitar, and me on drums.
