La Groovance
After years running the Atelier MG music association, Adrien Mathieu—a good friend and my music teacher—took things to the next level by opening his own space in Bayonne: La Groovance. Bigger and more inviting than his previous studio, it was a fresh start for him, and I wanted to help out.
I volunteered to shoot photos of the space before its opening so he could use them for Instagram, and I was there again for the opening night. The event was packed with great energy and local bands like Jaguar Bay and Tiger Finkel.
It was also a chance for me to experiment with a brand-new fisheye lens on my XT2. Until then, I’d been shooting everything with my Fuji X 35mm, so this was something different—and a lot of fun.
